Charlotte’s three-game winning streak ended last Saturday, Jan. 30, losing to Florida Atlantic. Despite a second half rally, the 49ers were unable to tie the game as FAU closed the game out by sinking their last 11 free throw attempts. Joseph Uchebo finished with his seventh consecutive double-double, recording 20 points and 13 rebounds. Looking ahead, Charlotte will travel to face North Carolina A&T on Wednesday, Feb. 3. The Aggies are currently on an eight-game losing streak. Charlotte is undefeated (10-0) against North Carolina A&T all-time. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

START STRONG

The 49ers have struggled to put points up in the first half, averaging 35 in the last two games. This slow start has plagued Charlotte. Luckily against FIU, Charlotte was able to exit Miami, Fla. with a win. But that wasn’t the case against FAU. Charlotte only managed 33 points in the first half, which is the main reason why their comeback fell short. The combination of turnovers and poor shooting have halted their first half play. One of the reasons why Charlotte has been playing well is their shooting from three, ranking first in Conference USA. In the first half of the FAU game, the 49ers were unable to make one three-pointer. If Charlotte can execute better on offense, then the turnovers will cut down and better shot selection will come as a result.

NC A&T SCOUTING REPORT

The Aggies are struggling as of late, as mentioned before their eight-game losing streak. But they didn’t come out of the gates as strong either, losing their first seven games. The Aggies have three double-figure scorers, led by Sam Hunt (15.8 points per game) and Bruce Beckford(13.8 points per game). What North Carolina A&T lacks is size and that is one of the reasons why they give up 76 points a game. There is only one player on the team with more than six blocks on the season. That is good news for Charlotte as Uchebo should be able to control the paint and the guards, like Curran Scott and Jon Davis, to drive the lane.
